What I noticed through my observations, survey, and interview is that students who responded saying they had a way to cope were less stressed on average, however it was not by much, people only rating themselves a point or two lower on a scale of 1-10, with 10 being the highest amount of stress.
Survey results of how high people scaled their stress.
Those who rated themselves higher usually claimed to not have a good way to deal with stress, or claimed to not be able to deal with stress, and those who rated themselves lower claimed to have a good way to deal with stress, such as hanging out with friends, or listening to music.
The most common way people said they dealt with stress was friends, as in spending time with, or talking to, friends helped them calm down and be less stressed. Other common answers were usually about schoolwork, with some saying that schoolwork is what stresses them, and that when they are done with it and out of school, they are less stressed.
There were similar amounts of people who said that the stress affected constantly and people who said it only affected them situationally.
